Women of different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds can present differently. Therefore, this webinar’s aim was to discuss and highlight these important issues.

Dr Anne Connolly MBE

After a two year volunteer posting to an under-resourced mission hospital in rural Zimbabwe Anne returned to General Practice in inner-city Bradford in 1990 and is currently working as a GP providing care for asylum seekers, refugees, homeless and sex workers. She is a GPSI in gynaecology , accredited as a hysteroscopist and FSRH trainer. She has been involved with commissioning since 2006 and retired as CCG clinical board member with remit for maternity, women’s, children and young people’s healthcare in 2019. Anne is chair of the PCWHF and RCGP Clinical Champion for Women’s Health. She is also co-editor of Women’s Health in Primary Care. Anne was honoured to be awarded an MBE for her work in women’s health in the 2021 Queens Birthday Honours List.

Dr Shashi Prasad

Dr Shashi Prasad is an experienced GP, BMS accredited Advanced Menopause Specialist and Women’s Integrative & Functional Medicine Doctor. She is a member of British Menopause Society and International Menopause Society. She is also a BSLM accredited Lifestyle Medicine Physician and member of Institute of Functional Medicine. She has worked in the NHS and privately for many years providing top-tier evidence-based care to her patients. She has a special interest in women’s hormonal health, including gonadal, thyroid, and adrenal health and she uses a holistic integrative approach towards women’s midlife health & wellness.

Dr Tonye Wokoma

Tonye is an experienced Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Community Gynaecology. She is also a Menopause specialist and the Menopause Guardian for the Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Health.  Tonye is extremely passionate about menopause care finding it very rewarding helping women thrive through the menopause transition and beyond.
